About Anne
Anne McTernan is a Business Strategist, Facilitator and Sustainability Advisor who brings a systems-level lens to her engagements with companies. Anne’s career started as a site engineer with a focus on project management from early on in her career. Upon emigrating to Australia, Anne got the unique experience of working FIFO with Chevron Oil and Gas Company to Wheatstone LNG for nearly 10 years continuing to develop her project management skills, stakeholder engagement within the global energy industry. Upon completing her MBA, Anne joined Chevrons global strategy team developing and implementing Chevrons LNG Global strategy. Upon returning to sunny Sligo, Anne joined public government, bringing her strategy development skills to economic/enterprise development.
Anne, now a business consultant, works closely with local, regional /national statutory and publicly funded bodies to identify, develop and implement strategic decisions. This includes research, consultation, facilitation, strategic planning and grant applications for bodies such as educational institutions, local authorities, enterprise agencies, government departments, county-based, local and regional agencies. She is noted for translating complex technical and regulatory challenges into clear, actionable outcomes for diverse organisational stakeholders.
When she’s not exploring possibilities with her clients, you’ll find spending time with her family, singing or exercising in sunny Sligo.

Feasibility Studies
A feasibility study will explore necessary resources, analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, identify the competition and potential funding sources. Exploring costs, sales projections and risks for your project, so that you can evaluate your strategy prior to committing funds
Workshop facilitation
One-to-one and group mentoring , as well as facilitate group workshops, training sessions and presentations. We work with enterprise support agencies and have provided mentoring and training for numerous enterprise development, incubation and acceleration programmes.
Grant applications
Completing, managing and reporting on national and EU funds. Anne will help identify, develop funding bids for single or consortium based projects

Feasibility Studies:
Completed application to Enterprise Ireland for > €100,000 and execution of exploring renewable energy supply chain development.
Community Grant applications:
Successfully developed & submitted community grants to Department of Rural Dev and Sports Capital Prog worth over €5 million.
Project management:
Managed multiple consultants on behalf of public agencies exploring sustainability options for economic development.
Workshop planning & facilitation:
Organised and ran 2 day workshops on behalf of public sector client for local regional business development initiative.

I support organisations in turning strategy into measurable results. My work spans strategy development, structured project management and business development, including securing and aligning with government funding opportunities. I bring particular expertise in regional economic and enterprise development, helping stakeholders design and deliver place-based growth initiatives. Through policy analysis and impact assessment, I provide clear insight into regulatory landscapes and funding frameworks, ensuring alignment with national and EU priorities. A core focus of my consultancy is Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG), embedding sustainability into governance, operations and reporting in a practical, commercially grounded and outcome-focused way.
